Black Ink was originally written for visual artist Kjahart who asked me if I had any music he could make films for so I did four or five tracks. Thats what friends are for right...?

The track is in a way a complete shuffle of influences and collages. Samples and played stuff...Its all based on two Slit drums and then I wanted to experiment with melting the entire track one or two octaves down using a whammy pedal which leads you into the middle guitar chamberlin rhythmate section which came from listening to a lot of Tom Waits at the time...

And of course glueing all the rhythmic sections together is Jair-Rohm Parker Wells exceptionally funky bass playing...
